Sites

Sites are customer-facing portals where people interact with your AI. Build help centers, booking pages, support portals, or any web experience.

Creating a Site

1. Go to Sites
2. Click Create Site
3. Configure:

Site URLs

Every site gets a URL automatically:

Default: {slug}_{workspace-slug}.site.gravityrail.com

Custom Domain: Use your own domain (requires DNS setup).

To add a custom domain:

1. Open your site
2. Go to Settings tab
3. Enter your custom domain
4. Configure DNS to point to our servers

Access Control

Public Sites

Anyone can visit:

• Set Public to on
• No login required
• Great for help centers, landing pages

Member-Only Sites

Require login:

• Set Public to off
• Only members with appropriate roles can access
• Good for customer portals, internal tools

Self-Service Signup

Let visitors create accounts:

1. Enable Public
2. Enable Allow Signup
3. Select the Signup Role - what role new users get

Pages

Sites contain pages of content.

Creating Pages

1. Open your site
2. Go to Pages tab
3. Click Create Page
4. Set title, slug, and content

Page Content

Use the editor to create:

• Text and headings
• Images and media
• Links to other pages
• Embedded content

Home Page

Designate one page as your home:

1. Create or select a page
2. In site settings, set it as Home Page
3. Visitors see this page first

Menus

Organize navigation with menus.

Creating Menu Items

1. Open your site
2. Go to Menu tab
3. Add items that link to:
   • Pages - Your site's pages
   • URLs - External links
   • None - Parent items with children only

Menu Structure

Build hierarchical navigation:

• Top-level items appear in main nav
• Child items appear in dropdowns
• Drag to reorder

Themes

Sites come with predefined themes. Select one that fits your brand:

1. Open your site
2. Go to Settings tab
3. Pick a Theme

Themes control colors, typography, and layout.

Web Crawling

Import content from an existing website:

1. Open your site
2. Go to Crawl tab
3. Enter the URL to crawl
4. Set the page limit
5. Click Start Crawl

The crawler:

• Follows links within the domain
• Creates pages from found content
• Extracts text and structure
• Respects page limits

Great for migrating documentation or help content.

Chat Integration

Connect your AI to the site:

1. Set a Default Workflow on the site
2. Visitors see a chat widget
3. Your AI handles conversations

The chat follows your workflow's tasks and abilities.

Analytics

Track visitors with Google Analytics:

1. Open your site
2. Go to Settings tab
3. Enter your Google Analytics ID

• Public: Yes
• Crawl: Your existing docs
• Workflow: Support workflow
• Theme: Customer-basic

Customer Portal

• Public: No
• Allow Signup: Yes
• Workflow: Account management workflow
• Custom Domain: portal.yourcompany.com

Landing Page

• Public: Yes
• Pages: Single marketing page
• Workflow: Lead capture workflow
• Theme: Pitch theme

Internal Tool

• Public: No
• Roles: Team members only
• Workflow: Internal workflow
• Theme: Default

Tips

• Start with a template - Clone an existing site
• Test as a visitor - Open in incognito mode
• Use descriptive slugs - They appear in URLs
• Keep menus simple - Don't overwhelm visitors
• Enable chat - Let your AI help visitors
